FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why is this so much cheaper than the alternatives?
Two reasons. The scan engine (our relay) runs inside your own Azure subscription, so we're not marking up compute. And checks are deterministic — we don't burn AI tokens to tell you whether MFA is enforced. Flat pricing, no per-user fees, no surprises.
What does Early Access mean?
Calibrant is in early access: the products are fully functional and actively developed, and early-access pricing is locked in for the tenants who join now. It also means the terms include early-access provisions — see the Terms of Service.
What's the difference between Essential and Pro?
Both include the full Healthcheck and Security Baseline products. Pro adds weekly scheduled scans (Essential is on-demand only) and keeps 2 years of finding history instead of 60 days. Overall score trends are kept for the life of the account on both.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days on either plan, no charge until the trial ends. Cancel from the customer portal anytime.
Are scans metered or capped?
Deterministic scans are unmetered on both plans — there are no credits to buy and no per-scan charge. AI-written summaries and recommendations are limited to 10 per day on Essential and 25 per day on Pro; those limits reset at 00:00 UTC.
Do you charge per user or per tenant?
Per tenant, flat. A 10-user tenant and a 500-user tenant pay the same.
How can software score business intent or third-party safeguards?
Calibrant reads Microsoft first, then asks a focused administrator follow-up only when configuration evidence cannot prove scope, intent, exclusions, policy quality, or an explicitly allowed outside safeguard. Answers are saved and reused when the relevant Microsoft evidence and Calibrant evaluation rules are unchanged; only affected items are asked again. Each control is scored once. A product proven unlicensed is excluded, and required context must be completed before the scan publishes a score.
Which Microsoft 365 tenants are supported?
Both Tenant Healthcheck and Security Baseline currently support Microsoft's worldwide commercial cloud only. GCC, GCC High, DoD, China/21Vianet, and other sovereign or national clouds are not supported yet.
